Description
Mauna Kea 154 SAE 40 is our rebrand of Exol-Lubricants Optima Marine 154. A top quality marine diesel crankcase lubricant blended from highly refined base oils and a specially developed additive package to produce a moderately alkaline product having a Total Base Number of 15 and exceptionally high film strength.
Mauna Kea 154 SAE 40 is particularly effective at preventing the formation of black sludge. Recommended for the lubrication of medium and high speed trunk type marine diesel engines operating on fuels containing sulphur levels up to 1%.
Provides excellent engine cleanliness particularly in the piston ring area. Its alkaline characteristics prevent engine corrosion by neutralising acidic combustion products thereby providing long service life. While ideally suited to trunk piston engines with low oil consumption of modern design, can also be used in older engines.
- Superior engine cleanliness: Its advanced additives effectively prevent the formation of black sludge and other deposits. Particularly in the piston ring area. This ensures excellent engine cleanliness and optimal performance.
- High film strength: The lubricant provides an exceptionally strong film to protect engine components from wear. As wellas scuffing, and metal-to-metal contact, extending engine life.
- Reliable for trunk piston engines: While ideally suited for modern, low-oil-consumption trunk piston engines, its robust formulation also allows it to be used effectively in older engine designs.
- Proven performance: This type of oil is used and approved by manufacturers for high-load, heavy-duty engines operating under severe conditions.
